Privacy Policy
Last Updated: August 4, 2026
1. Introduction
At GA4 Linker for Shopify ("we," "our," or "Dimsquid"), we are committed to respecting and protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how data is collected, used, and safeguarded when you use our website or install our WordPress plugin.
2. How Our Plugin Works (Data & Analytics)
Our plugin operates entirely on the client side (in the user's browser) and inside your WordPress dashboard. Its sole function is to append Google Analytics 4 cross-domain linker parameters (_gl) to outbound links and forms pointing to your Shopify store.
- We do not store or collect your customers' personally identifiable information (PII).
- We do not transmit customer browsing behavior or cart data to any third-party servers owned by Dimsquid.
- All session stitching tokens are passed directly between your WordPress domain and your Shopify store via Google Analytics 4.
3. Information Collected During Purchase & Licensing
We partner with Freemius Inc. to handle billing, checkout, and software licensing. When you purchase a license or activate our plugin:
- Payment details (credit cards, PayPal) are processed securely by Freemius. We never see or store your payment card numbers.
- Your name, email address, site URL, and license key are stored in Freemius to deliver software updates and support.
- You can review Freemius's Privacy Policy at freemius.com/privacy.
4. Google Analytics & Cookie Disclosure
Our website and plugin interact with Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a web analytics service provided by Google LLC ("Google"). Google Analytics uses first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to help analyze how users interact across websites.
- Cross-Domain Linking (
_gl): When navigating between your WordPress site and your Shopify checkout, Google Analytics appends a temporary URL parameter (_gl) containing a client identifier to preserve session continuity without storing personal data. - IP Anonymization: Google Analytics 4 automatically anonymizes IP addresses at collection time.
- Google's Privacy Terms: To learn more about how Google processes analytics data, view Google's Privacy Policy and Google Analytics Data Safeguards.
- Opting Out: Users can prevent Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or choosing "Essential Only" on our cookie consent banner.
5. Data Rights & Contact Us
Under regulations like GDPR and CCPA, you have the right to request access to or deletion of your account/licensing data. If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or wish to exercise your data rights, please contact us:
